skyhub PAD plans to continue the connection to Munich from September 2025

The next milestone has been reached: following intensive discussions with the airline DAT A/S, skyhub PAD GmbH & Co. KG has concluded an agreement to continue the connection to Munich. In the meantime, a strong team has been assembled for the operational implementation and is working intensively to meet the launch date in September 2025. DAT will operate up to three flights a day from Paderborn/Lippstadt to the Munich hub on behalf of skyhub PAD.

DAT initially began operations in 1989 as a cargo airline. The company was particularly involved in special assignments such as the transport of animals or providing support for the Dakar Rally. DAT also began offering charter flights with passengers in 1994, and has been offering scheduled flights since November 1996. DAT is majority-owned by the Rungholm family and, due to its owner-managed, medium-sized structures, is an ideal fit for skyhub PAD.

“We have taken sufficient time to hold discussions with several airlines. After all, we want to offer a stable solution that is particularly important for our strong medium-sized business community,” emphasises Christoph Plass, who has also been heavily involved in driving the project forward in his role as Vice-President of the East Westphalia Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in Bielefeld and will chair the advisory board of skyhub PAD GmbH & Co. KG shareholders in future.

‘DAT was our absolute preferred partner from the outset. We are very pleased that we have come together after extensive discussions. The signing of the contract is a very important step towards realising the flight connection to Munich,’ explains Klaus Marx, Managing Director of skyhub PAD GmbH & Co. KG, who has more than 30 years of experience in the aviation industry. The company’s operational team will also include Matthias Hack (communications and press spokesman), Mirco Welsing (marketing and sales) and Alexander Schroll (coordination at the Munich site).

Over the next few weeks, the skyhub PAD team will continue to work intensively on plans to continue the Munich connection. This will focus in particular on the exact flight times and bookability. As soon as this has been finalised, skyhub PAD will inform the public accordingly.
